BIOGRAPHIE

Berlin-born soprano Nina Bezu made her acclaimed role debut as Violetta Valéry (La traviata) at Festival Schloss Glatt this summer. Highlights this autumn are concerts with Verdi’s Messa da Requiem and Brahm’s Ein deutsches Requiem, both at Herkulessaal in Munich as well as Mozart's Requiem with the Residenzorchester Baden-Württemberg.

 

In the 2022/23 season Nina Bezu made her debut at the Teatro die San Carlo in Naples as Gerhilde (Die Walküre) under the baton of Dan Ettinger and returned to the Staatstheater Cottbus as Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro).

In the 2021/22 season she made her debuts at Oper Leipzig as Mariana in Wagner's Das Liebesverbot and sang the role as well at the Wagner Days 22 of the Oper Leipzig. Further she had her debuts as Contessa in the new production of Le nozze di Figaro at the Staatstheater Cottbus, as First Lady (The Magic Flute) and as soprano in Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Staatstheater Braunschweig.

She has been a member of the Theater Vorpommern in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, where she has sung Leonora in Verdi's Il trovatore, Dido in Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell and Brigomeïde and Minna in Detlev Glanert's Die drei Wasserspiele. Hanna Glawari in Lehár's Die lustige Witwe and Feldmarschallin in Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Already in the 2018/19 season she sang Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) at Theater Vorpommern before she became member of the the opera ensemble.

Further guest engagements took her to the Konzerthaus Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Teatro Principal de Zaragoza, and for several concerts to the Auditorio de Zaragoza.

By the UEFA Nina Bezu was invited to sing the opening ceremony of the 24th Champions League Final 2015 at the Olympic stadion in Berlin.

She is the first german soprano to win the Elizabeth Connell Prize - International Singing Competition for dramatic sopranos, she is winner of the International singing competition Schloss Rheinsberg, finalist of the Concurso Internacional Alfredo Kraus and of the International Wagnerstimmenwettbewerb in Karlsruhe. She received a scolarship from the Richard Wagner Verband Braunschweig in 2022 and a scorarship from the Olga  Forrai Foundation in 2023.

Nina studied at the University of arts in Berlin with Robert Gambill and Carola Höhn, where she graduated with distinction. Further artistic impulses were received through her work with Christiane Iven, Thomas Quasthoff, Norma Sharp and Teresa Berganza.
