BIOGRAPHY

 

Berlin-born soprano Nina-Maria Fischer has been a member of the Theater Vorpommern since the 2019/20 season and has appeared as Leonora in Verdi's Il trovatore and as Dido in Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell so far. Further roles this season are Brigomeïde and Minna in Detlev Glanert's Die drei Wasserspiele, Hanna Glawari in Lehár's Die lustige Witwe and Feldmarschallin in Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. Already in the 2018/19 season she sang  Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) at Theater Vorpommern before she became a member of the the opera ensemble.

Further engagements took her to the Konzerthaus Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Teatro Principal de Zaragoza, Auditorium Zaragoza and she colaborated with orchestras such as the Stourbridge Orchestra, Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode, Residenzorchester Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Zaragoza. She has worked with conductors like Errico Fresis, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra, Steven Sloane, Evan Christ, Laura Pérez-Soria and directors like Frank Hilbrich, Lars Franke, Matthias Schönfeldt, Alexander Irmer and Tobias Ribitzki.

Her repertoire includes Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, Elettra in Idomeneo, Alcina, Lucia di Lammermoor, Leonora in Il trovatore,  Violetta in La traviata, Micaëla in Carmen, Rusalka, Mimì in La bohème, but also first roles in the young dramatic repertoire like Ariadne in Ariadne auf Naxos, Feldmarschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Elsa in Lohengrin and Eva in Meistersinger. In addition, Nina-Maria Fischer sang the leading roles of Vi in Gershwin's Blue Monday and Lady Betty in the European premiere of Blitzstein's Triple-Sec at the Konzerthaus Berlin and Komische Oper Berlin. At the Neuköllner Oper Berlin she sang Ida-Marie in the world premiere of Enric Palomars Bazaar Cassandra. Already during her studies she sang Indolende in the re-discovery and Berlin premiere of Martinus' Les trois souhaits.

The young soprano was invited by the UEFA to sing at the opening ceremony of the 24th Champions League Final in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

 

Nina-Maria studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Robert Gambill and Carola Höhn, where she graduated with distinction. She is currently being coached by Sami Kustaloglu. She received further artistic inspiration in master classes with Teresa Berganza, Christiane Iven and Thomas Quasthoff. She is the winner of the Schloss Rheinsberg Vocal Competition, finalist of the Concurso Internacional Alfredo Kraus, the International Wagner Vocal Competition in Karlsruhe and the New York international vocal competition.
